UNAVOIDABLE DELAYS: This issue of TVia will appear some- time during my European trip from July 17 thru Oct. 15. That is total time away, not all in Europe by any means. However it will take some- thing over a month to get another one out to you after I return. This will mean a rather longer than usual interval between Nos. 70 and 71 which I simply want you to know about beforehand so that you will not wonder what has happened. I hope that those of you who will be subscribing for No. 71 and beyond will not wait until its appearance to send in your or- der. Costs for typesetting go on long before the issue appears. In fact, much of what will go into No. 71 has already been done by the typesetter and the bills rendered. I just have a weekly pay-as-you-go arrangement with him. So order in advance as you will and your card will be pulled and the order filled as soon as the issue is available.
II. RECEIVING MAIL: There remains those who are afraid to re- ceive mail at home or work and thus buy it off of newstands or order it general delivery, etc. These people can get postboxes usually in a sub- station convenient for them and although the box must be taken in one's legal name, mail can be received in it under any name male or female or a pseudo business name if the box section is just informed about it. Fail- ing post office boxes, arrangements can often be made with public sten- ographers, telephone answering services or mail forwarding agencies to receive and hold mail for pickup for a small fee. Again one doesn't have to use their true name and we will ship under any name we are given.
III. HELP US TO HELP YOU: The biggest jam up and problem we have at Chevalier is correspondence. Please help us out in two ways 1) Frame your questions so that they can be answered yes or no or by supplying a few word answer. 2) Write them on a card of sheet of paper so that we can just supply the necessary information in a moment's time, and 3) Supply us with a self addressed and STAMPED envelope. Our postage bill was astronomical already but a 33 1/3% increase (6c to 8c) is just too much. We must either ask you to supply it or in many cases just not answer. We have such a volume of mail involving some sort of reply that we just can't do it without your help. If the question comes with an order and the reply can go back with the order, the envelope isn't necessary unless of course you want it quicker or by air mail.
